Uh oh, looks like Zero busted out the “F” word this week! And Kick does not at all seem pleased! (but when is she ever? haha) Maybe you guys remember Kick’s three “ground rules” when this whole adventure began?
I’m also sure most of you guys remember Kick Girl’s promise at the beginning of this chapter… but it seems like there may be more to the story? We’ve talked about Kill Boy quite a few times during the course of Mystery Babylon here and there… but now… mwahahaha! It should be an interesting couple of pages.
Guys, I love your comments! I want to hear some of your wonderful theories!

0n0 happy feels go bye bye…
(((((
Poor zero.
I wonder if he’s ever had a friend before…
GASP
KICK BE ZEROS FRIEND
OR ELSE.
(aaaaaand I don’t care about judas… In fact I would prefer kicking his traitorous bahookie into the next century and back… WITH POINTY BOOTS.)
So this is not going to be a happy story, huh?
If there is any happiness in the story it is only presented as a setup for the following tragedy.
Now Zero has broken each rule! XD
Oh my goodness! We get to learn about Kill Boy and how everything happened! C: I sure do miss that malicious murderer! Cx
Man, waiting one day a week is hard! But it’s worth it! I’ll be waiting for the next Monday!
Oh man. I HAVE been wondering what happened to Kill Boy…
I can’t wait… Finally the reason! Though why do i get a feeling she might be interrupted…
MONDAYS DON’T COME FAST ENOUGH.
This, right here, is the best advertising any comic could ever have.
I agree! Man I love you guys :’( ♥
♥
no theories just another great page
Thanks MIB!
Definitely deserves a vote…..I have voted everyday now since around page 80 LOL
Hm, I’ve got hardly any idea about what Kill boy’s all about. But I assume he’s a kind of antithesis or perhaps a foil to Kick-girl… Possibly a demon as well? Not sure what number he’d be. Also, probably a little homicidal. Maybe just a little bit though. Maybe only to those who deserve it? Or maybe to the innocent. Lots of maybes. Who knows? The author. Maybe the readers of the stuff pre-Kick-girl. All the same, I now have a great reason to look forward to next Monday. Yay for Val and her brilliance!
You’re so sweet, Alex!
I feel like this all turns into an after-school special pretty quickly.
ahahaha!
Keeps getting more and more interesting. You are so professional. : )
Oh gosh, thank you, Rick! You’re sweet for saying so! ♥
Backstory!
Yesssssssssssssssssss….!
Well, I haven’t read the older series (since it’s still not in the online store, hint hint).
However, to make some guesses/theories based on what we’ve seen so far:
#1 If any of this is relevant it means Kill Boy is potentially still alive. This can pretty much only mean that either time doesn’t pass within the seal (or passes way frickin’ slowly) or he’s a demon or something similar (possibly whatever Vesta was)
#2 From the way people who have read the older comic comment and refer to him as “that murderous bastard” I’m guessing either he’s like Kick and has two sides but lets the violent one dominate and doesn’t get upset about it, or just is that way and only has the one side (apparently not a mindless as Kick’s though)
#3 I’m assuming based on the above he got sealed away for a practical reason (as in he’s one of the things that the seal is supposed to be there for) and not for a heroic/noble reason (like when Sam Winchester got locked into the seal of hell with Lucifer in Supernatural) or even an accidental reason (like when Dean Winchester ended up in Purgatory). If you don’t watch supernatural, you should feel bad and then go fix that problem. Alternatively, Wikipedia is your friend.
#4 Depending on the metaphysics of your world, Kill Boy might be Kicks sibling (if all other demons are Vesta’s kids); if not then I suspect that they had an intense love-hate relationship as we saw Kick say that he was the only one she ever loved. I’m doubting that’s just family ties there.
#5 Judas works for the cult that’s trying to open the seal. Therefore he wants to know to determine what exactly he’s letting out. Especially since he now knows the two guys who reported Kick told them to stop trying to open the seal didn’t fail any “test” like their leader proposed, but were in fact telling the truth.
#5a. If he’s loyal to the cult, he wants to know if he has to be prepared for Kill Boy to be an enemy once he opens the seal
#5b. if he’s loyal to Kick, he wants to know if he has to be prepared for Kill Boy to be an enemy if his cult manages to open the seal
#5c. if he has a crush on Kick, he wants to know if he has to be prepared for Kill Boy to be an enemy if his cult manages to open the seal
#5d. if he’s out for himself he wants to know what might happen if he opens the seal.
—> I’m betting on A or D with about 50-50 odds so far.
#6 the seal itself is either a Chekhov’s Gun or a MacGuffin
#6a If it is a Chekhov’s Gun we don’t know enough about what else is in there to know what all Kill Boy’s been going through or what else will come out with him when it opens. In this case, the most likely (because it has the most plot weight and uses the older flashback to JJ’s death as foreshadowing) outcome is that Kick is forced by some plot device to open the seal herself, overcome with momentary happiness at seeing Kill Boy, then quickly it all goes to hell (almost literally) as Kill Boy for one reason or another makes it look like he just killed Zero (but I also bet Zero lives) and all the other demons take off to do their thing. I then predict a follow up plot to reseal everything up which may or may not involve redeeming Kill Boy or resealing him or killing him but I don’t have enough info to make that prediction yet.
#6b. if it’s a MacGuffin, then almost certainly Judas is loyal to the cult, tries to force Kick to open the seal or to open it himself. It is also likely if we do not see the cult in any significant way until the seal is reached that they show up right at this moment and their leader tries to open it. We’ll almost certainly get a short visual of Kick seeing Kill but not being able to interact. It’s possible Judas and/or the cult leader get shoved in. It’s probable he tries to kill Zero, but again I suspect he will fail, though Kick will believe zero is dead initially. If the cult needs a human sacrifice to open the seal, zero will be the sacrifice and the reason it doesn’t open properly is that he lives. Possibly due to something the angel did in advance.
Therefore to set up these possible outcomes, I suspect whatever comes in the next flashback will:
1. define Kill Boy as a demon and a murderer but not clarify any further what it means to be a demon
2. not reveal Kick’s feelings for Kill Boy until after Zero intervenes/questions/teases
3. not reveal why or how he got stuffed into the seal other than “he’s a demon” which doesn’t tell anything because supposedly so is Kick
4. I give it 75-25 odds weighted to not reveal his relationship to Vesta. It’s possible, but I’m not expecting it
5. If we learn his relationship to vesta this early it is only because a later non-flashback scene will make that relevant in regard to him getting out of the seal or the nature of the seal or because it also reveals something relevant about kick.
6. Stops on a cliff-hanger. Either the story will get interrupted or Kick will get to a point she refuses to go farther and stops. I’m betting on an interruption. Given how they talked her into it at all, it’d be a bit odd if she backed down after starting up.
My god. I love you. This is all wonderful. These are the most thought out theories I’ve heard yet! You’ve spent some time thinking about this! That makes me warm and happy inside
I hope the story will not disappoint! ♥
