Page 117! Wow… I still am in awe of how many pages of Mystery Babylon there’s been… Sometimes I forget how much art I’ve actually drawn! Haha. I get so caught up in working week-to-week that I forget to look back and appreciate how much time has gone into it. I think it’s awesome! Yay for sticking to routine!!
Hope you are enjoying the comic so far! This page was fun, but that last panel gave me some trouble. I redrew it about 6 times haha. I like how it came out though. As much as I love drawing Dark KG, I miss drawing happy-face Zero. Let’s hope he makes it through this so I can see some happy Zero smiles again! :0

Yup, I think the laughter in the last panel is a bit of a give away she’s playing.

Just when I was starting to like this comic too…
Actually, it’s not really what one would call a ” Deus Ex Machina” or “God From a Machine”. That phrase is defined as:
“A plot device whereby a seemingly unsolvable problem is suddenly and abruptly solved with the contrived and unexpected intervention of some new event, character, ability, or object”
The fact that Kick is a demon, it’s bad to make a demon bleed, and what kind of berzerk monster she can become (presumably when rendered bleeding) have all been foreshadowed and is a known aspect of Kick and key part of the story. Therefore, I would have to disagree with you on this one. A “Deus Ex Machina” is instead often the result of poor planning leading the story teller to paint themselves into a corner, like if Zero was fataly injured and then the artist realized he was needed and so Zero pulls out a BS-Brand magical potion that heals all wounds and ailments that he had saved for “just such an occassion” and no one realy knew about it. Now that, I believe we could both agree, would be a major let down.

Yeah, it’s no coincidence, the area in quotation marks is quotted directly from wikipedia. I thought it best to have an exact definition with my explanation, though I’m bad about not citing my sources.
Did you miss all the flashbacks and foreshadowing? You better stay after class and study some more.
